Follow Friday (#26)

Alison Can Read Feature & Follow
Feature & Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read where you meet and follow different bloggers.

Question of the Week: What do you do with your books after you are done reading them?

Normally, I just stick them back on my bookshelf, because although I'm not a hoarder in general, I will admit that I'm a hoarder of books; they're just so pretty and difficult to part with! If I've read a book and know someone who will really enjoy it, then I will most likely lend it out to them (like The Hunger Games - my copies are so battered from being here, there and everywhere!) or just give it away permanently (I knew that when I started using the Twilight series as a fly swat that I needed to pass it on.)

So what about you? What do you do with books after you've finished them? Leave a comment below, and don't forget to check out the giveaway.

  1. Exactly! It's so hard to let a book leave my hands. You never know how the recipient is going to treat it! If I think someone will really enjoy it, then I'll be them their own copy LOL :) Thanks for stopping by and great giveaway!

    1. Exactly! I mean, when I borrow a book from someone, I swear I treat it like it's the Holy Grail or something - but not everyone is the same!

  2. It's kind of rare for me to buy a book I don't like - normally the books I buy are by authors I've known and loved for ages OR a book that's been highly recommended / received awesome reviews.

Normally if I'm unsure on a book I'll get an ebook copy first and read a few pages. If I like it then I'll buy myself a copy, if not then it's only a couple of pounds lost!

    1. I'm the same! Although sometimes I will pick up a book if it has a gorgeous cover, and if I like the synopsis too...well, why not? I do usually have a sneaky peek on Goodreads though, just to check what the reviews are like.

  3. I used to have a bunch of books.. but with so much moving, that has lessened. I'm in a more permanent spot now, so building the bookshelf back up :) Thanks for visiting my blog.

  7. Niiice!! Love the idea of the fly swat!! I usually donate all my unwanted books to my library and they usually sell them to benefit the library itself. So it's all good! In my first drop off to the library those books were the first to hit the cardboard box!

  8. Ha! A fly swatter. That is a sign the book should be given away. With the exception of books, I'm generally not a hoarder either. I just can't part with my copies. Thanks for stopping by blog earlier.

Though I did let my brother borrow my entire Harry Potter series, and he has kind of helped me in making a mess of them!
